This is a simple two-step process. First paint a trees’ trunk from the ground to a height of three to six feet with arboright Limewash. Then use Azomite Soil Sweetener to replenish minerals, calcium and trace elements which support tree health. The Soil Sweetener is spread on the ground to the edge of the tree canopy and then watered in. Working on slopes, application should be heavier on the uphill side of the tree. Obstructions to application by natural or constructed enclosures calls for intensive application of minerals at the base of the tree and anywhere else practical out to the edge of the tree canopy. Application rates will depend upon trunk size, canopy radius, and overall tree health.

A plants’ health is only as good as the environment in which it lives. There are several things that can be done to maximize these treatments. The most important is the removal of invasive mosses and lichen from the ground and the trunk of the tree. These acidic organisms break down tree bark and acidify soils causing fine root mortality. The use of mulch or planting of ground cover on exposed topsoil works to slow water loss and reduce the ability of mosses and lichens to take hold. Rock or gravel, where appropriate, can also work to reduce the build-up of acidifying agents.
